Mrs. Marian A. Johnson, 79, of Oakwood Ave. died Saturday January 6th at the Lutheran Home of Southbury. She was the wife of Arthur E. Johnson.
Mrs. Johnson was born November 22, 1927 in Waterbury daughter of the late Charles and Elvah (Lewis) Andrews. She had graduated from college in Danbury with a degree in teaching. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Plymouth for over 60 years where she had been a Sunday School teacher and had sung in the choir . She was a co- owner of The Stitching Center yarn shop formerly of Prospect.
Besides her loving husband, she is survived by two sons, Scott and Kurt Johnson both of Oakville, three daughters Lou Anne Johnson of Massachusetts, Claudia Massaro of Waterbury and Charlotte Johnson of Bethlehem, a brother LeRoy Andrews of Arizona, four grandchildren Kristal Lipson of Florida, Amanda and Michael Massaro of Waterbury, and Eric Johnson of Oakville, and one great-grandson Joseph Lipson of Florida.
Calling hours will be held on Monday January 8th from 6:00 - 8:00pm at The Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 2 School St. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday January 9th at Noon at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the Funeral Home from 11am until the time of service on Tuesday.
