Marcia was born December 13, 1926 in the Bronx where she grew up. The oldest daughter of Tess and Irving Malawista she grew up with her sister Evelyn (Warheit) surrounded by a close and loving extended family.

She married Dr. Alvin Siegler on November 30,1947. They were very happily married for sixty six years. Alvin always said if it hadn't been for Marcia he wouldn't have accomplished what he did. She was intimately involved in all aspects of his medical career including organizing his medical practice, coediting his medical textbooks, hosting his colleagues and traveling the world with him.
Marcia and Alvin's home was always the center of extended family gatherings. Marcia nourished with love, kind words of encouragement and her famous chicken soup, apple sauce and fruit platters. She was an artist at entertaining family, friends and colleagues. She naturally had a green thumb and was the gardener giving nourishment and sweetness so those around her could grow.

She worked tirelessly as a community volunteer in Woodmere, New York at National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) serving in many roles including NCJW representative to the United Nations and NCJW President 1979-1981. She cherished her time there and the lifelong friendships she made. When honored by NCJW, her colleagues and friends described her as a woman of gentility, intellect, and wisdom. Her qualities of caring, commitment and conviction were an inspiration. She was gentle and kind, yet strong and passionate in her desire to improve society.
Continuing her lifelong love of the arts she attended plays and concerts with her friends in Boca Raton, Florida In her final months Marcia was surrounded as always by loved ones. She died as she lived graciously. She shared many special times with her loved ones. She knew we will carry her in our hearts forever.
