Woodbury -
Mr. Mahlon A. Lynn, 93, of Woodbury died Monday January 30th, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of over 60 years of Janet (Russell) Lynn.
Mr. Lynn was born January 3rd, 1919 in Allentown, PA, a son of the late Raymond E. and Ellen (Anderson) Lynn. He grew up in Bethlehem working alongside his father and brothers peddling mail and pumping gas at the family service station on "Lynn's Corner" in Woodbury. He graduated from Watertown High School and Post College. He applied his trade as a machinist at several manufacturing companies including Farrell Foundry, Anaconda American Brass and Heminway & Bartlett until his retirement in 1986. Mahlon was a US Navy veteran having served during WWII from 1940 to 1946 aboard both the U.S.S. Babbitt and U.S.S. J.W. Weeks. He moved to Woodbury in 1955 where he had resided until his death. During the 1980's and1990's, he traveled the country to attend the annual naval reunions from his service aboard the DD701 John W. Weeks. He was a member and former deacon of the First Church of Bethlehem U.C.C., King Solomon's Lodge #7 A.F. &A.M. and the American Legion Bradley Burton post #155, both in Woodbury.
He was an avid reader of the daily newspaper and his other hobbies included playing setback, listening to big band music and watching M*A*S*H and Gunsmoke on TV Land. He had an outgoing personality always wanting to meet new people and learning where they were from.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his son, Raymond M. Lynn of Bethlehem, a sister, Margaret Urfer of Naples, ID, several nieces and nephews and his 'grandson", Nicholas the dog. He was predeceased by his brothers, Raymond E. (Chip) Lynn, Jr., Robert W. Lynn and Carl A. Lynn.
Mr. Lynn's family would like to thank all of the aides from Comfort Care @ Home, LLC for their loving care provided to him over the past year and one half.

Funeral: First Church of Bethlehem

Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday February 4th at 11am at the First Church of Bethlehem, U.C.C., 21 Main Street South, Bethlehem. Burial will be held in the spring in New North Cemetery, Woodbury.

Visitation: There are no calling hours.
