Obituary

In loving memory of Lynette Rose Zaniewski (Hill), who passed away on June 29, 2018 at the age if 70.  Lynette Rose Hill was born to Evelyn (Fowler) and Lester Hill in Stafford Springs and lived in Coventry, Connecticut for the first eight years of her life.  She attended school in the historic one room Brick School in Coventry which is now a museum.  In 1955, the Hill family moved to Southbury, Connecticut.  Lynette played violin in grade school, and then switched to the clarinet, so she could be part of the new marching band in middle school.  These musical instruments are still in the family.  Lynette and the Hill family moved to Woodbury in 1964 and Lynette graduated from Woodbury High School in 1965.  Members of the family still reside in the Woodbury home that was purchased by the Fowler family in 1904.

Lynette graduated from Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and was known for her sewing skills. She frequently hand made clothing for her young children Jason and Alicia Zaniewski.  Lynette worked in the Engineering field until the industry left the area.  She then took some time off in 1986 when her youngest child Jamieson Zaniewski was born.  In 1994, she began her 23 year career as a Mail Carrier with the United States Postal Service.  Lynette was scheduled to retire on June 30, 2018 but passed away one day earlier from a ten month battle with Bladder Cancer.

Lynette will forever be missed in the lives of her family and friends.  Lynette is survived by:  siblings Newell and Janet Hill, and Jane and John Hanes; her children, Jason Zaniewski, Alicia and Michael Ryno, and Jamieson Zaniewski; her grandchildren, Taylor Zaniewski, Sarah Zaniewski, Jonathan Ryno and Jacob Ryno; nephews Robert Hill, Matthew and Amanda Hill, and Brenden Hill; and Great niece Alexandra Hill.
