Louise Raleigh, 82, of Hamilton Avenue, Waterbury, died Friday, November 2 at the Meridian Manor in Waterbury. She was the widow of Roy Raleigh Jr.
Mrs. Raleigh was born August 10, 1925 in Spartanburg, SC, daughter of the late Forrest and Mary (Sharpe) Means. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Waterbury and enjoyed watching baseball and the UCONN girl's basketball team.
She collected porcelain dolls, stuffed animals and loved listening to Gospel music. She is survived by a son, Howard Lee Raleigh and his wife Laura Eason of Waterbury; 5 daughters, Mable R. Sears of Wolcott, Sandra R. Dykes and her husband Tony, Karen N. Kirkpatrick, both of Waterbury, Cynthia Y. Bourgeois and her husband Burnell of Hartford, and Dorothy L. Raleigh who, along with Hollis Hart, she made her home; 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren many of whom she helped raise and several nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by a brother, Rudolph Means and a sister, Lillie Ruth Means.
Cemetery: Pine Grove Cemetery

Services: Funeral services will be held Saturday November 10th at 10: 00 am at St. John's Episcopal Church, 16 Church St. Waterbury. Burial will be in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury
Visitation: Friends may call on Saturday in the St. John's Episcopal Church Library from 9: 00 am until the time of the service.
