SOUTHBURY- Ms. Lorraine Coleman, of 40 Yankee Dr., died Wednesday morning, November 7, 2007 at Waterbury Hospital.
Ms. Coleman was born April 1, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Harry and Florence Coleman. She was the beloved step-daughter of the late Grayce Coleman. Ms. Coleman was predeceased by a sister, Ms. Meada Blier. Ms. Coleman's happiest memories were of time with her father and step-mother, including watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade from her NYC apartment.
Ms. Coleman lived in Southbury since 1953 and was involved in restaurant and kitchen work including Friendly's, Timber's, Pewter Pot, McDonald's, The greenery Café© and several Kitchens at Southbury Training School. She was also a member of the STS Fife and Drum Band. In her later years, she enjoyed participating in leisure activities at home and at Community Resources in Oakville. She especially enjoyed artwork, drawing, bingo and country music. Ms. Coleman practiced her Hebrew beliefs at Birnbaum Chapel.
She leaves no know family. She does leave behind many loved ones in her home and community.
Location: Munson-Lovetere Southbury
Services: Funeral services were held on Friday November 9th at Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere. Burial followed in King Solomon Cemetery, Clifton, NJ. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, November 16, 2007 at here home, 40 Yankee Dr. Southbury at 2 p.m.
