Lorna Kovac (Kenyon), age 90, after a short illness, found her peace on Thursday, September 18th, 2025. A resident of Monroe CT and Littleton NH for many years, Lorna lived in Woodbury most recently for the last 13 years.
Lorna is survived by her sons Jasom, Ian, David, Paul, and daughter Diane Horton. She took pride in her grandson Ian Kovac and his wife Liz, granddaughter Melanie Casson and her husband Jon, great grandchildren Noah, Connor, Charles, Raven, and Colt. Sisters; Gillian Kenyon of ME, Valerie Kenyon of NH. Nephews Richard Muckle, Peter Baillie, nieces Debi Messina, Elizabeth Kenyon, Susan Kenyon, and Rachel Hood. Residing in England; Brother Ian Kenyon and his wife Christine, nephews Daniel and Adam.
Lorna was born in Essex, England. As a young girl, her life was disrupted by WWII and local bombings. In her mid-teens Lorna unofficially broke the world record for the long jump during a Redden Court track and field practice. Lorna met and married Jasom Kovac who was stationed in England with the USAF, and in 1955 she immigrated to the US with Jasom and their 2 young sons.
There were frequent trips with her family to England to visit family. Once being a transatlantic crossing on the SS United States with her 5 children to meet up with her husband in Germany and live in Europe for over a year.
An avid reader and gardener, she also enjoyed crafts such as sewing, ceramics, knitting, and crocheting. Lorna volunteered in literacy programs in Bridgeport during the early 1970's. While living in CT and NH, she also worked in retail and hospitality.
The family would like to thank the staff at River Glen Health Care Center for their dedication and care in keeping Lorna comfortable. Special thanks to Tracey, whose patience and kindness was invaluable. Thank you to St. Mary's Hospital for their expertise and care.
