IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lois G.
Florian
November 7, 1923 – June 18, 2011
Lois G. Florian, of Southbury, died Saturday, June 18, 2011. Lois was born November 7, 1923 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late William O. and Clara L. Florian. She graduated from Simmons College in Boston with a degree in Home Economics and from the New York Institute of Dietetics. Lois was employed as a home economics teacher, dietitian and head of a taste panel for a large food company. She enjoyed classical music, especially organ music, walking, sewing, crafts, cooking and baking. She was an active and longtime resident of Heritage Village in Southbury and a devoted member of the United Church of Christ Southbury. Most recently, Lois very much enjoyed living at the Hearth in Southbury.
She leaves many loving nieces and nephews who affectionately remember her as the "Cookie Lady," a title given to her in honor of the 63,000 "famous" cookies she baked in her lifetime for her family and others during the holidays. She was pre-deceased by her sister, brother and sister-in-law. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. A. Craig Shealy for his remarkable care of Lois. They would also like to thank the staff at Apple Rehab of Watertown for their wonderful TLC.
