Obituary

Linn E. Mace,87, passed away peacefully and with dignity on February 18, 2024, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain surrounded by loved ones. Linn was born on August 26, 1936, to Gladys P. Mace and Leonard E. Mace in Pawling, NY.  Linn graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, honorably discharged.

On September 18, 1965, Linn married Christine M. Mace.  In 1967, the couple moved to Woodbury, CT where they lived and raised their family. He worked at Pawling Corporation, Pawling New York, then Uniroyal, Naugatuck, CT until he returned to Pawling Corporation where he retired as Chief Chemist of Research & Development.

He loved his family most of all. He attended many concerts, plays, sports games… Linn enjoyed sports, from coaching his children's little league teams to cheering on his children and grandchildren at their events. He was an avid fan of the NY Mets and the UConn Women Huskies.

Linn was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Christine M. Mace.  He is survived by his son Linn E. Mace II and his wife Debbie of Danbury, CT; his daughter Christine L. Mace of Bristol, CT; his son Francis L. Mace and his wife Tia of St Simons Island, GA; his daughter Lara E. Brown and her husband Matthew of Waterbury, CT; his grandchildren Donell Battle, Kayla Tierney, Brianna Battle, Elijah Brown, and Macee Brown; and many friends.

Calling hours will be Wednesday February 21, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Munson Lovetere, 235 Main St. N., Southbury Ct. The family will have a private burial at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider making a donation in Linns memory to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
