A much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Linda McCarthy Cole, 65, of Woodbury, passed away unexpectedly on February 12, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Linda was born on July 7, 1960, and spent her entire life in Woodbury, Connecticut, a town she loved and proudly called home. She was known for her infectious “giggle,” warm personality, and the way she could make anyone feel like an old friend within minutes of meeting her.
For more than 30 years, Linda worked as a waitress, a job she truly enjoyed because it allowed her to connect with people every day. She took pride in her work and was known by coworkers and customers alike for her kindness, quick wit, and welcoming spirit. Many who came in as customers left feeling like friends, thanks to Linda’s genuine warmth and memorable sense of humor.
Family was always at the center of Linda’s life. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother who treasured every moment spent with her family. Whether it was celebrating holidays, sharing stories around the Yahtzee table, or simply enjoying each other’s company, Linda created countless memories that her family will carry with them forever.
Linda also had a deep passion for cooking. Her kitchen was often the heart of the home, filled with the comforting smells of homemade meals and the laughter of family and friends gathered together. She loved preparing dishes for holidays, family gatherings, and everyday dinners alike, believing that good food was one of the best ways to bring people together.
Those who knew Linda will remember her generous heart, her caring nature, and her unmistakable “giggle” that could brighten any room. She had a gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and loved.
Linda leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of kindness, love, and laughter. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her husband, Quinn Cole, daughter Christine Henry of Bethlehem; step-daughters Nickola Cole of East Haven and Emilee Cole of Bethlehem; step-son Joshua Cole of Morris; Grandchildren Sadie and Christopher Hollon III of Bethlehem; brother James McCarthy and his wife Laura McCarthy of Hillsborough New Hampshire; sister Shirley Fish and her husband Donald Fish Sr. of Woodbury. As well as many other uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by parents George and Joan McCarthy of Woodbury as well as brother George McCarthy of Woodbury.
