Woodbury- Mrs. Lillian M. (Commette) Bassett, 93, died Saturday July 3, 2010 at the Lutheran Home of Southbury. She was the wife of the late George G. Bassett.

Mrs. Bassett was born September 25, 1916 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Hector and Lillian (Tetrault) Commette. She resided in Woodbury most of her life and enjoyed reading, knitting, sewing, singing and playing board games.

Mrs. Bassett is survived by a son Ralph Maugeri of Edgewater, FL, daughters Sarah Norton of Torrington, CT and Lynn Polzella of Waterbury, three sisters, Norma Jean (Noani) Dombroski of Unity, NH, Frances McIlvain of Westport, CT and Joan Ayala of Valrico, FL. She is also survived by three granddaughters, Lori Whitburn, Lisa Delano and Kate Norton and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Bassett's family would like to thank all of the staff at the Lutheran Home for their kind and generous care given to Lillian.

Services: A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 10th at 10: 30 a.m. in Old North Cemetery, Woodbury. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 10th at Woodbury Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 8 Carmel Hill Rd. Woodbury.

Visitation: There are no calling hours.
