Obituary

SOUTHBURY- Mr. Leroy H. Baldwin, 71, of Curt Smith Rd., died Sunday, August 26, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of JoAnn (Foley) Baldwin.

Mr. Baldwin was born October 11, 1935 in Waterbury, son of the late Kenneth J. Baldwin, former First Selectman and Fire Chief of the Town of Southbury and Gertrude L. (McBath) Baldwin. He had served with US Army in Korea, and was a mechanic at Baskin and Robbins in Southbury and was a lifelong Southbury resident. Following his father's footsteps, he was a former Fire Chief for the Southbury Volunteer Fire Association where he served as a 54 year member. Mr. Baldwin was also member of the New Haven County Chief Association and enjoyed wood working.

He was a member of the Masonic Temple, King Solomon Lodge #7, Lafayette Consistory, Valley of Bridgeport, member of the Sphinx Directors of Newington as well as the False Alarmers, Sphinx McCoys Hillbilly Clan #117, Ancient Accepted Scottish and Rite Free Masonry, Valley of Waterbury, member of the Kaabans Club of Plymouth and Royal of Order of the Jesters, Dimaryp #66.

Besides his wife of 43 years, he leaves two sons Lee K. Baldwin and his wife Stephanie of Canaan and Timothy E. Baldwin and his wife Linda of Middlebury, a daughter Tammy M. Baldwin and her husband Kenneth Tyler of Lakeville, CT and a brother, Melvin Tomlinson of Southbury and 7 grandchildren: Ashlee, Maggie, Nicholas, Kacie, Andrew and Allen Baldwin and Sean Bastedo.

Location: Munson-Lovetere Southbury

Funeral: United Church of Christ

Services: A Funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m at the United Church of Christ, 283 Main St. North, Southbury.

Visitation: Friends may call the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St North on Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
