Mrs. Leila M. Stone, 89, of Southbury died Monday June 14th at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by her family, on what would have been her husband's 89th birthday and their 65th wedding anniversary. She was the wife of the late George H. Stone Sr.
Mrs. Stone was born September 4, 1920 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Herbert G. and Viola (Crofit) Partridge Jr. She and her husband owned and operated H. H. Stone and Sons Hardware Store in Southbury for many years. She was a founding member of the Southbury Fire Department Women's Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star Pomperaug Chapter. She loved sunbathing, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by a son George H. Stone Jr. and his wife Carol of Southbury, a daughter Linda Harvey and her husband Richard of Manchester, Massachusetts, 5 grandchildren, Mark Stone and his wife Lissa of Bethlehem, Doreen Morgan and her husband Bret of Sherwood, Oregon, Heath Stone of Stratham, New Hampshire, Justin Harvey and his wife ArriAnna of Beverly, Massachusetts, Jared Harvey and his wife Karen of Beverly, Massachusetts, and seven great grandchildren, Hayden and Ava Morgan, Andrew and Evelyn Stone, and Austin, Cooper and Luna Harvey, two sisters, Aimee Smith of Thomaston, Viola Rallis of Lutz, FL. She was predeceased by a brother Herbert G. Partridge "Bud" Jr.
