Lawrence E. Pilch, 90, of Grace Meadows, Southbury, died Friday, March 19, 2010 at the River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury, after a brief illness. He was the widower of Elsie Pilch. Mr. Pilch was born April 13, 1919 in Dover Plains, NY, a son of the late Albert Pilch and Mabel (Roberson) Pilch-Trautman-Ahders. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Safeguard Manufacturing and Panelbar of Woodbury for many years. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, watching old western movies and Yankee baseball. He loved spending time with family and friends and firmly believed that everyone should enjoy each day and should have at least one good laugh every day. He is survived by two sons, Wayne Pilch of Tucson, Arizona and Ronald Pilch of Woodbury; two daughters, Susan Pilch of Woodbury and Betty Pilch of Hamden; 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his very dear friend, Virginia Mueller of Southbury. He was pre-deceased by a son, Leonard Pilch.
