Mr. Kevin K. Kuhne, 54, of Torrington died Tuesday January 2nd at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of Debra (Bernardo).
Mr. Kuhne was born December 25, 1952 in Danbury son of the late Ernest and Louise (Paradis) Kuhne. He graduated from Newtown High School and worked for Condit Manufacturing in Sandy Hook before starting his own business in 1986 as an Optical Technician where he became recognized for his expertise and contributions in the field of Historical Binocular Restoration. His work was primarily dealing with individual collectors and projects for the Smithsonian Institute. He was also a regular contributor to texts on this subject.
Besides his loving wife he is survived by three nephews.
Calling hours will be held Thurday January 4th at The Southbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 235 Main St. North. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday January 5th at 10:00am at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Zoar Cemetery, Rt. 34, in Sandy Hook. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made in Mr. Kuhne's name to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, 540 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT 06790.
