Kenneth J. Acocella Jr. was born January 15th, 1984, to parents Ken Sr. and Michele. He was the oldest of 6 children and lived home with his loving family and many pets. For several years, he was fighting difficult battles against kidney disease and other illnesses. Earlier this month, he received an advanced cancer diagnosis and on Wednesday, August 27th, he left peacefully in his sleep.

In his time on earth, he loved music, video games, and was a collector of movies and tv show boxed sets. He was also a hardcore believer of liberal ideals and debated conservatives online often. These beliefs represented who he was as an individual; a person who values love, freedom, equality, and kindness above all. He was a kind soul who cared deeply for others even as he suffered through debilitating illness and injury. Over his 41 years, Kenny made many friends, went to countless concerts, enjoyed vacations with family and friends, and was a cherished member of his family. He left us before he was able to fulfill his goal to become a drug counselor but not without hope that his story may be useful to deter others. Even just one life steered away from the grip of a hard life would be everything to him and to us.

He leaves behind many friends, two grandparents, several aunts and uncles and cousins, his parents, and his 4 younger brothers and one younger sister. For all of us, Kenny will be deeply missed and always hold a place in our hearts and by our sides.

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7th at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere from 12:00pm until 2:00pm. A memorial service will begin at 2:00pm.
