IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathleen
Watson
September 25, 1955 – October 31, 2025
Kathleen "Kathy" Reardon Watson, 70, danced into the light of Heaven on October 31, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Fondly known for her vibrant personality, infectious laughter, and impeccable sense of style, she was always "dressed to the nines."
Her love of life shone brightly through her passions — from caring for animals (especially her beloved golden retrievers and last known loyal companion, Olive), traveling to the Caribbean, and cruising with the top down in her mustang convertible. She embraced every new adventure with joy and courage.
A longtime resident of Woodbury, Connecticut, Kathy made her home there for 36 years. She dedicated 34 years of her career to the Southbury Training School, where she cared deeply for the residents and often welcomed them into her own life and home. To Kathy, they were not just those she served — they became part of her extended family.
Among her greatest joys was being a "Grammie." She cherished every moment spent helping to raise her two youngest granddaughters, sharing with them the same love, laughter, and warmth she gave so freely to everyone in her life.
Kathy is survived by her sister, Margaret Dashuta (and the late John Dashuta); her children, Sarah Thorpe (Corey), Christina Emanuel (Jacob), and Allen Watson Jr.; and her eight beloved grandchildren. She will also be remembered by a host of family near and far, and by countless friends, colleagues, and acquaintances whose lives she touched throughout her journey.
A Celebration of Life in Kathy's honor will be held in early 2026.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Kathy's memory to the American Stroke Association, a division of the American Heart Association, to support ongoing research and awareness efforts in stroke prevention and recovery.
