WOODBURY- Mrs. Katharine (Stevens) Waters, 94, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the Lutheran Home of Southbury.
Mrs. Waters was born May 23, 1914 in Spirit Lake, SD, daughter of the late Olaf James and Eleanor (Shea) Stevens. She was a graduate of Wappingers Falls High School and attended SUNY Albany. She resided in Woodbury for over 28 years, previously living in New Milford, Danbury and Brookfield. During WWII, she worked for Chance Vought in Stratford as an airplane blueprint inspector. Mrs. Waters was employed by Data Control Systems for many years. She retired at age 70 as head of payroll from Graphic Sciences, Burroughs/Unisys after many years of service.
Mrs. Waters was office manager for Waters Construction for many years.
Mrs. Waters was Vice President of the PTA in New Milford for several years and was a girl scout leader for many years. Having volunteered for the Salvation Army in New Milford, she was in charge and leader of their fundraisers. She was member of the New Milford Congregational Church where she was superintendent of Sunday School, a member of the Danbury Professional & Business Women for many years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting and cooking.
She is survived by two daughters, Gail Rahal of Oakville,CT and Deborah Fish of Woodbury, CT, three grandchildren, Jennifer Fish Kaiser, Katharine Fish Falotico and David Fish and five great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sisters Frances Dingee and Mary Hastings.

Services: A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at North Congregational Church, 11 Main St. North Woodbury.
