Karen Harrison, 64, of Bethlehem CT passed way after a brief illness in White Plains NY on 16 September 2021. Karen was born in Waterbury CT on Oct. 26,1956 to Robert Harrison and Elizabeth (Schiller) Harrison, both of whom predeceased her. She was predeceased by brother William Harrison, and her spouse Edythe Brzezinski.

She is survived by her partner Gayle Gagliardo of Simsbury, her brothers Robert Harrison, Steven (Zorka) Harrison, and her twin brother Raymond (Maria) Harrison, her mother-in-law Elizabeth Brzezinski, Edythe's siblings; Stan (Cheryl) Brzezinski, Betty (Lou) Iannaccone, Judy (Paul) Hopco, Luce (Sean) Gorman, Eddie (Rosie) Brzezinski, Mary Brzezinski (Dan), Gloria Garnish, Kathie Hansen, Kathy Brzezinski

She is also survived by her Aunt Grace Nolan of Naugatuck, nieces and nephews Mark, Jessica, Kristy, William, and Brian, many cousins and several grand nieces and nephews. She also leaves her beloved dog and faithful companion, Abby, and her cat Pearl.

She attended St. Francis School in Naugatuck, and Naugatuck High School. She graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Special Education. She was employed at Southbury Training School as a State School Teacher, working as a classroom teacher and eventually as a supervising teacher, for 32 years, until her retirement in 2011.

She was very socially active and had many lifelong friends from the school, and maintained deep personal relationships with joy and humor throughout her life. People loved to be around her because she always had an unassuming, gentle, calm spirit.

She loved hiking, biking, kayaking, traveling, dogs, wildlife, and sports of all types - especially the UConn Huskies.  She was always ready for a new adventure.

A graveside service will be held 2 October 2021 at the new Lakes Road Cemetery in Bethlehem CT at 11:00 AM. Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. To leave an online condolence please visit www.munsonloveterefuneralhome.com
