IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Juli B.
Postol
January 30, 1939 – November 5, 2025
Juli Postol, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose life spanned California's coast and Connecticut communities, died on November 5, 2025. She was 86.
Born on January 30, 1939, in Carmel, California, Mrs. Postol spent her early childhood in Big Sur, where her father served as a park warden and the family lived in a ranger's cabin-an experience that instilled in her lifelong affection for nature and a sense of adventure. She was educated in San Francisco, graduating from Lowell High School and attended San Francisco State University.
Travel was a defining joy of Mrs. Postal's life. Together with her husband, Earl, she explored more than 40 countries, embracing new cultures and perspectives with curiosity and warmth. Closer to home, she built enduring friendships and contributed to the civic and intellectual life of her community. She was a member of the Naugatuck Women's Study Group and the University Club of Greater Waterbury, and in earlier years taught and worked with older adults in Brookfield, Connecticut, where she lived before settling in Woodbury. Juli was an avid gardener, she created extensive gardens at her home.
In addition to her husband, Earl Postol, she is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Smeriglio; her grandchildren, Jacob Smeriglio and Amanda Smeriglio; and Earl's children, Todd Postol and Beth Montgomery.
In lieu of a funeral service, a celebration of her life will be held in the spring. Attendees are invited to wear bright colors in honor of her spirit.
