Mr. Jules Corbin, 90, of Heritage Village died Thursday November 15, 2007 at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. He was the widower of Phyllis Corbin to whom he was married to for 63 years.
Mr. Corbin was born January 26, 1917 in New York City, son of the late Philip and Yetta Cohen. He was raised in Brooklyn, New York and was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp. serving in WWII. He was a Manager for Lynbrook Hardware on Long Island for many years before moving to Heritage Village where he resided for the last 17 years. He was also a volunteer for Heritage Village, assisting many others in the community. His hobbies included painting, woodworking, and billiards. He was also an avid reader of history and was an award winning photographer.
He is survived by two sons, Bruce Corbin of West Hartford and David Corbin of Port Clyde, ME, and three grandchildren Jonathan, Joel and Eliot Corbin. He was pre-deceased by a brother Max Cohen and a sister Betty Brum.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday November 18, 2007 at 1:00pm at The Southbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 235 Main St. North. Burial will follow at Farband Cemetery in Morris, CT.
