Josephine M. Olack of Southbury died on December 7, 2009, at River Glen Health Care Center. She was 83 and the widow of Theodore J. Olack.
Josephine was born on April 3, 1926, in New York, New York.. She was
the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Giambrone and the sister of the
late Frank Giambrone. She is survived by her brother, Gerald Giambrone.
After growing up in New York City, Josephine married and raised three
children in Wantagh, New York. In 1976, she and her family moved to New Fairfield, Connecticut. After her husband of 48 years passed away, she
moved to Heritage Village in Southbury. Josephine was a florist, antique
collector and dealer, and administrative assistant. She also was an avid
reader, tap dancer, gardener, and opera lover. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, and Italian cooking. Josephine is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Miriam Olack
Borgatti and John Borgatti and his two daughters, Kathryn and Rachel; her
son and daughter-in-law, Neil and Rebecca Olack, and their four children,
Kyle, Craig, Ted, and Ellen; and her daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and
Thomas Sullivan and their two children, Nicole and Alexa. She also is
survived by a host of extended family members and good friends, including
her childhood friend, Evelyn Liska.
