Mr. Joseph Jean Roy, 62, of Bethlehem died Wednesday January 28th at Waterbury Hospital after a battle with cancer. He was the husband of Maria Neide (Regis) Roy. Mr. Roy was born September 27, 1946 in Fairfield a son of Marie Helen (Beaule) Roy of Southbury and the late Joseph Armand Roy. He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard and a member of the American Legion Post #0146 in Bethlehem. He worked for many years at Roy's Garage in Bethlehem and Woodbury and Newtown Savings Bank. He then joined the New Milford Water Company where he worked as a meter reader until his retirement. His hobbies included fishing, crossword puzzles and car racing.
In addition to his loving wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter Sherry Hutter of Megford, Or, three grandchildren, his brothers Roger Roy of Bethlehem, Henry Roy of Morris, Victor Roy of Thomaston and Harvey Roy of Torrington, his sisters Claire Osier of Bradenton, Fl, Lorraine Stockwell of Thomaston, Leora Paparazzo of Woodbury and Gisele Russano of New Fairfield as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
