Joseph A. Heneghan, 88 years of age of Prospect, Connecticut passed away on November 25, 2009. He was born in Trumbull, CT on May 2, 1921 and graduated from Bassick high school. He was married to Ann Marie Sullivan on 4/19/1952.
Joseph served courageously in the Armed Forces in the European theater during World War II. He remained an active member of the VFW. He spent his career in construction as a large crane operator and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers local 478.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ann Heneghan, 10 children; Joseph Heneghan Jr., Kathleen Blersch, Thomas Heneghan, Michael Heneghan, Marguerite Heneghan, Kevin Heneghan, Joanne Silvestri, Maureen Heneghan, Timothy Heneghan, and Mary Romeo; 17 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Mary Smith and Bertha Kiernan.
Cemetery: CT State Veteran's Cemetery
Location: Munson-Lovetere Southbury
Funeral: St. Anthony's Church
Services: A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Anthony's Church , 4 Union City Rd., Prospect, CT on December 2, 2009 at 10 am. Burial will follow in Connecticut State Veteran's Cemetery, Middletown.
