Joseph H. Casten, 101, of Southbury, died Thursday, July 21, 2022 at his home. He was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Geraldine Casten, and their son Gary. Joe found joy in helping others and was a regular volunteer at the Southbury Senior Center and a member of American Legion Post 147 in Southbury. He was a foreman at Sikorsky Aircraft before retiring in 1982. He was a World War II veteran and served multiple tours with the U.S. Merchant Marines. He will be missed by his daughter Bonnie, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and the many friends who he touched with his generosity and kindness. A graveside service was held with immediate family, and a memorial service will follow at a later date.

A graveside service with full military honors took place Tuesday July 26, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Ave. Bridgeport, Ct.
