John Winn, 73, of Woodbury, died Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. His wife, Dorothy, and daughters, Pam and Joanna, were by his side.
John was born October 27, 1935 in Santa Monica, California, a son of the late John and Mary Winn of Temple City, California. He and Dorothy married in 1960 and lived in California until 1983 when they moved to Connecticut with their two daughters.
John retired from Zierick Manufacturing in Mount Kisco, New York in 2005. He served on the boards of his home church, First Congregational Church, and Spruce Bank Farm Retirement Community in Woodbury. He was a regular volunteer at The Red Barn thrift store and the Woodbury Food Bank and also served at several Americare's Operation Homefront projects throughout the years.
John was a fun and loving father and husband. He enjoyed antique car shows, fishing and golfing with his daughters, travel, good food and especially spending time with family and friends.
John leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Dorothy, his daughters Pam Winn and Joanna and son-in-law, Derek Buono.

Funeral: 1st Congregational Church of Woodbury
Services: Funeral services will take place Wednesday, September 29 at 10 : 00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, 214 Main St. South, Woodbury. Burial will be held at New North Cemetery in Woodbury.
Visitation: Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Woodbury Funeral home of Munson-Lovetere, 2 School St.
