Obituary

John Andrew Ulrich, 84, of Southbury, CT, died suddenly on September 17th. He was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Roseboro) Ulrich. He was the widower of Elisabeth (deFontaine) Ulrich, his wife of 62 years. He was born in Lancaster, PA, on August 4, 1922. He lived most of his life in Darien before moving to Heritage Village in 2004.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Corps from 1943 through 1946. Upon discharge, he finished college at Franklin & Marshall, and went to work at Pitney Bowes in Stamford. He was Director of Corporate Purchasing before his retirement in 1984.

He and his wife traveled extensively in the US, Canada, England and the Caribbean, and he enjoyed planning the trips almost as much as being on them.

He is survived by a sister, Charlotte Daub Haworth, of New Canaan, a daughter, Courtney Cloutier of Southbury, a son Peter Ulrich of Fort Collins, CO, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by a brother Charles Ulrich Jr.

There are no services planned. Interment is at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
