JOHN RICHARD TANK
SOUTHBURY- John Richard Tank of Pomperaug Woods, died Saturday, May 30, 2009 in Southbury.
Mr. Tank was born in Chatham, NY, May 3, 1906, son of the late Morton Richard and Stella (Bayly) Tank. He was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, class of 1930, where he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. For nearly 40 years, he was associated with the New York State Department of Agriculture in plant quarantine and protections services and later as Secretary of the Department, an executive office.
A former long time resident of Mamaroneck, NY, he was the senior warden at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Following relocation to the Albany NY area, Mr. Tank retired in 1972 and moved to Heritage Village and subsequently to Pomperaug Woods.
Mr. Tank is survived by a son, J. Robert Tank of Fleming Island, FL and two grandchildren, Richard H. Tank of North Yarmouth, ME and Stephanie K. Tank of Cheshire, CT.
