John J. Sniffen, 77, formerly of Stamford, CT died peacefully at home in Southbury, CT on August 16th, 2007. John was the beloved husband of Arlene for 47 years.

He was born in Stamford, CT to Milo and Katherine Sniffen. At age 18, John served in the CT National Guard 192nd Field Artillery Regiment. After his service there, he attended Pace University's school of business. John started a building business and went on to a successful career building custom homes in lower Fairfield County, CT.

His hobbies included golf, a good game of Gin, watching Jim Cramer's Mad Money and enjoying and loving his grandchildren. In addition to his wife Arlene, John is survived by his son Scott and wife Tracey along with their children Zack and Max of Southbury, CT., his son Joshua and wife Janet along with their children, Emily of Naples, FL and Taylor of Manchester, Vt.

John's other surviving siblings include sisters Mary Sniffen Lynch of Del Ray Beach, FL., Eleanor Sniffen Harkin of Ft. Myers, FL. and brother Milo Sniffen, Jr. of Ft. Myers, FL as well as many nieces and nephews

Services: A memorial service will be held on Monday August 20th, 2007 at The United Church of Christ, 283 Main St. North, Southbury at 1: 00pm.

Visitation: The family will be receiving friends and family on Saturday, August 18, 2007 from the hours of 2-5pm at the Munson Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main St., North, Southbury, CT.
