November 15, 1954 – August 1, 2025
Southbury- John "Jack" T. O'Brien, 70, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, August 1, 2025. He was the loving husband of the late Patricia A. O'Brien, who passed in November 2024.
Jack was born on November 15, 1954 to the late John J. and Jane F. O'Brien in Oceanside, New York. Jack grew up with his siblings Bob and his twin sister Jane in Garden City South, Long Island, New York. During his years in high school, Jack met Pat when they were 16 and 17. Little did they know they would be inseparable for the next 53 years. Jack and Pat were not only life partners, but best friends. When they welcomed their son, Matthew, their family was complete. Matthew and Jack developed a close bond, often cheering on their favorite teams together, the Rangers and the Mets, and sharing a nightly discussion about their day's events. Jack was a skilled golfer, winning two country club championship tournaments. Jack also had a deep love for animals. He would always make sure to feed the birds in the yard or spoil his rescue dog, Herbie.
