IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John E.
''Jack'' Dwight
June 20, 1935 – September 30, 2014
John E. "Jack" Dwight, 79, of Estero, FL, devoted husband and loving father, died peacefully in his sleep on September 30, 2014. Born and raised in Newburgh, NY, he graduated from Newburgh Free Academy in 1953. A serious student of very modest means, he received a scholarship from Union Carbide to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he completed his Bachelor of Science degree studies in electrical engineering. He subsequently earned his Masters of Science degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Jack built a highly successful career in the electronics industry. His impressive technical and managerial skills carried him to executive level positions in the industry. Following retirement, Jack continued to serve on the board of directors of Blonder Tongue Laboratories, Inc. Those closest to Jack knew him as a model for his devotion to family and friends, his quick wit, his compassion for those in need, and his respect for all living things. He taught us that a key to happiness was service to others. Youth basketball in New Jersey; YMCA, American Cancer Society, and Danbury Hospital in Connecticut; and SCORE and Meals on Wheels in Florida were among Jack's many charitable affiliations over the years. His selflessness, stewardship and kindness touched so many. Jack will be greatly missed by his adoring family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Mary Ann (Carnright) Dwight of Estero, FL; his son John "Jack" Dwight, Jr. and wife Carla of Idaho Falls, ID and his son Jeffrey Dwight and wife Christine of Southbury, CT; Son-in-law Kevin Gow of Hawthorn Woods, IL; and his beloved grandchildren Kevin, David, Ellynne, Elizabeth, Natalie, Abigail and Olivia; and great granddaughter Kenzlie. Jack was preceded in death by his daughter Lynne (Dwight) Gow, grandson John Dwight III, mother Elizabeth Dwight, and brother Gerald Dwight.
