It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Gannon, 78, a cherished brother, proud Navy veteran, devoted friend and a man of quiet strength, who entered into eternal rest on July 23, 2026.
John was born May 29, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents John and Jean Gannon.
John demonstrated remarkable courage and grace throughout his life, facing challenges with a steadfast spirit. A skilled technician, he dedicated his career to repairing computers and tolls, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
John's profound faith guided him daily, influencing his interactions and the lives he touched. He is survived by his brother, Larry Gannon, and sister-in-law, Susan Gannon, who will continue to honor his legacy of compassion and resilience. John is also survived by his niece, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 10:00am held at the Sacred Heart Church located 910 Main St. N. Southbury. Burial with military honors will follow at New North Cemetery in Woodbury.
The family of John would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the hospice staff at the West Haven Veteran’s Hospital for their kindness and excellent care of John.
