WOODBURY - John Wesley Davis, IV, 57, passed away on Thursday, August 14th, 2014 in Waterbury, CT, surrounded by his loved ones after a long battle with ALS.
John was born December 14th, 1956 in Yonkers, NY to John and Claire (Harding) Davis of Pearl River, NY. Growing up, he became the youngest Boy Scout in NY to earn the Eagle Scout rank. While achieving this, John played hockey and softball.
He graduated from Iona College in New Rochelle, NY with a business degree in Accounting. John then furthered his education by receiving his masters and CPA.
On May 8th, 1982, he married Cecily Hunt in Southbury, CT. Soon after, John and Cecily raised three children together as well as many Boston Terriers.
He enjoyed all aspects of life, ranging from leading Boy Scout Troops for 10 years to boating on Brant Lake at sunset, from listening to Queen to reading the latest crime mystery novels. John especially enjoyed watching his favorite New York sports teams, especially when they didn't let him down. He was also famous for his dance moves, Super Bowl parties as well as his ability to make everyone around him laugh and have a great time.
John was the Chief Financial Officer of William Raveis Real Estate for 16 years. He worked on many fund raising events for the company. John was a hardworking, generous man who was greatly respected among his colleagues.
John is survived by his wife Cecily, his daughters Caitlin and Gillian, and his son Griffin, his sister Kathy Craig and her husband Edward, and his brother Thomas Davis, as well as many nieces (Mackenzie, Kelsey and Taylor Craig, Emily Davis, Eliza Hunt), nephews (Matthew Hunt and Timothy Davis) and cousin (Mary Lynne Vecchione).

Services: Services will be held on Wednesday, August 20th beginning at 10: 30am at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in Newtown, CT.

Visitation: Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4: 30-7: 30 p.m.
