Woodbury- Joan Ann (Fraser) Verrilli, 91, of Woodbury, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 4, 2022 at Waterbury Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, while listening to Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra.  She was the wife of the late Richard Verrilli.

Joan was born June 1, 1931, in Bridgeport.  She was the first female manager of Howard Johnson's restaurant, where she worked for several years, and also spent time as a realtor for Weichert in Westport.  She spent her retirement years working at Woodbury Pewter, and absolutely loved the Woodbury community.

Joan is survived by her sister, Roberta Cerrone; her sons: Bruce Gervais, predeceased by his wife Lynn; Gary Gervais and his partner Sheila; Michael Gervais and his wife Cathy; and her stepchildren: Richard Verrilli and his wife Diane; Dean Verrilli, predeceased by his wife Jackie; Mark Verrilli and his wife Lynn; Carol Cannone, predeceased by her husband John; Joy Chambers and her husband Jamie; Linda Bain and her husband Mark; and many, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, all of whom she loved very much. She was also predeceased by her dear sister, Lorraine Gura.

Joan loved gardening, golf, and socializing with her friends.  She was quite the traveler, and was always eager for her next adventure!  Her biggest adventure, though, was her time with her family.  She attended all events, no matter how big or small, and no matter the distance; she was so proud of her role as "Nanny."  She was nicknamed "The Paparazzi" by her family, since she loved being behind the camera, and because of that, there are hundreds of documented memories to cherish for years to come.  She saw the good in everyone, wanted her loved ones to be happy, and found the positive in every situation.  Joan was strong, courageous, and vivacious until the very end.  91 years were not enough.  XXOO.

A memorial service for Joan will be held on Sunday, July 17, at Munson Lovetere Funeral Home, 2 School St. Woodbury, at 10:00am, with a memorial gathering to follow until 12:00pm.
