Joan G. Huntley, 89, of Southbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Danbury Regional Hospice on June 16, 2025. She was the devoted wife to the late Raymond Huntley Sr.

Joan was born on August 7, 1935 in Derby, the daughter to the late Edward and Grace Christian. Joan attended local schools and eventually met the love of her life, Ray.

Joan had the purest heart of love and service to her family and friends.  Her generosity and love of life had no bounds.  She loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.  Whether sewing new clothes, cooking, quilting, or tending to her vegetable garden, Joan was a woman of many talents.

Growing up with her twin brothers, Joan developed a love for sports, becoming an incredible athlete. She loved being part of the co-ed softball league in Waterbury, pitching and catching for R.J. Guerrera's team right up until the age of 72.

A deeply caring and giving spirit, Joan would always go above and beyond for those she loved. She could often be found loudly cheering on her grandchildren at their sports games, ringing her bell, so proud of their accomplishments.

Left to cherish Joan's memory, her son Raymond Huntley Jr. and his wife Trish and their son JT; her daughter Debbie Judson, her husband Ron and their sons Chris and Nick; her sister-in-law Jane Christian; her stepson Gary Penny, stepdaughters, Kim Platt, Jill Fox, Diane Laois, and Gail Rounds, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. Her granddaughters Christine Piero and Renee Sullivan were especially dear to Joan.

Besides her husband Ray, Joan was predeceased by her twin brothers, Dick Christian and Bob Christian, her sister-in-law Chubb Christian, and her two beloved sons, John Phillips Huntley and Tom Phillips Huntley.

Family and friends may gather on Friday, June 27, 2025 at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. N. Southbury, CT 06488 from 4:30 pm until 7:00pm. A celebration of Joan's life will begin at 6:30pm.
