Mrs. Jessye Smith of Heritage Village passed away peacefully on June 7, 2009 at her home. She was 97 years young.
Jessye was born on Dean Street in Brooklyn, NY to James and Jessie (Mace) Pinnell. She traveled the United States with her parents before finally settling in Mineola, Long Island, NY. She moved to Heritage Village in 1981.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara Lee (Quinn) White and her husband Ed, her beloved grandchildren Brendan White and his wife Yachico and Maureen White, her stepdaughter Barbara Aftanski, step-grandsons, Mark and Michael Aftanski, their four children and a sister Yvonne Maxfield. She was predeceased by her first husband, J. Harrison "Harry" Quinn and her second husband Ellery Smith as well as three sisters, Vera Sanderson, Rita Murray and Rose Guest and many, many friends.

Services: A memorial service will be held on Friday June 12, 2009 at 11: 00am at The Southbury Funeral Home of Munson - Lovetere, 235 Main St. North. Burial is at the convenience of the family.
