SOUTHBURY- Mrs. Jennie M. (DeSalvo) Orrico, died Friday, December 25, 2009 at Bethel Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Peter A. Orrico, Jr.
Mrs. Orrico was born November 16, 1922 in Stamford, CT, daughter of the late Joseph and Vita (Perniciaro) DeSalvo. She has resided in Southbury since 1978, previously living in Monroe and Cos Cob, CT. Mrs. Orrico was a retired bookkeeper, having worked for Stone Construction Company in Southbury for many years. She was a member of the Italian Renaissance Club, the Southbury Friendly Visitor's Program and the Meadowlarks Group at Grace Meadows. Mrs. Orrico was also a volunteer for the Salvation Army and an avid pinochle player. She was very loving and a friend to all.
She leaves three sons Richard J. Orrico and his wife Karen of Trumbull, Thomas P. Orrico and his wife Jody of Cos Cob, CT and Ronald J. Orrico and his wife Christine of Sandy Hook, a daughter Maryann Baccash and her husband William, Sr. of Milford, a sister, Anna (DeSalvo) Gasper of Stamford, 9 grandchildren: Meghan Orrico Stevenson, Jeffrey Orrico, Brian Miska, Christopher Orrico, Nicholas Orrico, Cheryl Orrico, Steven Orrico, Kelly Baccash and William Baccash, Jr., 4 great granddaughters: Merritt, Kenna and Delaney Stevenson and Penelope Jane Orrico. She also leaves several loving nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Ben DeSalvo, Andrew DeSalvo, Anthony (Sonny) DeSalvo, Josephine DeSalvo, Virginia Sabia and Julia Wasicki.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 30th at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main St. South. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday day from 4-8 p.m. at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. North.
