Jean O. Stone, 95, of Southbury, Connecticut passed away, Monday, October 8, 2012. She was born in Rockville Centre, New York in 1916 and was a resident of Garden City, Long Island for over sixty years. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard M. Stone, broadcasting executive, who passed away in 1987.
Mrs. Stone, who graduated from St. Joseph's College in Brooklyn, NY and received a Master's degree in education from NYU, taught English in the Sewanaka School District, Franklin Square, NY for over twenty two years. She also played the piano and was an organist for St Anne's Roman Catholic Church in Garden City. Mrs. Stone was a resident of Heritage Village in Southbury from 1986 until 2005 when she moved to the Pomperaug Woods retirement community where she spent her final years.
She is survived by her son, Richard and his wife, Christie of Darien, CT, her son, Robert and his wife, Sue of Stamford, CT, her son, John and his wife, Maureen of Palm Harbor, FL and a daughter, Deborah Stone Brown and her husband, Kurt, of Kirkwood, PA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral: Sacred Heart Church
Services: A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 910 South Main Street South, Southbury, CT on Saturday morning, October 13, 2012 at 9AM. Burial to follow at New North Cemetery in Woodbury.
Visitation: Calling hours Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. North.
