Jean Kirby Shepard of Woodbury passed peacefully December 1, 2019 at Waterbury Hospital. Her husband of 64 years, Frank E. Shepard, Jr., predeceased her in 2014. She was born July 21, 1932 to Philip H. and Jean Sage Kirby of Waterbury.

Family, three generations of Shepard Farms, and Woodbury were the focus of her life for 70 years.  She was active in North Congregational Church, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Republican politics, Mitchell Elementary School, and any other community need she could help.

Jean is survived by children David A. Shepard and Susan J. Shepard of Woodbury, granddaughter Samantha Foster (Robb) and great-grandsons James River and Charleston Sky Foster of Virginia.  Sons Roger E. Shepard and Steven F. Shepard preceded her in death as did siblings Robert D. Kirby and Priscilla H. Kirby.

Services and burial will be private.
