Obituary

ZELLWOOD, FL- Mrs. Jean Steele (Barnish) Potter, 86, of 3302 Button Bush Drive, passed to be with her Savior on May 4, 2007. She was the wife of the late Frederick F. Potter, Lt. Col. USAF, (Ret.), for 46 years.
Mrs. Potter was born January 20, 1921 in Waterbury, CT, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Vera (Rudman) Barnish. She had lived in Zellwood for the past 28 years.
Mrs. Potter was a devoted wife and mother and brought joy and laughter to all who knew her and leaves behind many good friends. Mrs. Potter enjoyed serving as a nurse's aide Candy Striper during the 1950's while stationed at Lajes AFB, Azores and, at several nursing homes in Florida and Connecticut. She will be remembered for her generous hospitality, sense of humor and unconditional love.
Mrs. Potter is survived by her sister, Thelma Edge Dinkle of NC, a daughter, Sandra S. Sorensen of Avon, two sons, Frederick H. Potter, SMSgt, USAF, (Ret.), of Oklahoma City, OK, and Jeffery D. Potter of Florham Park, NJ., and was blessed with eight grandchildren, Kristine, Ricky, Susan, Lori, Stacy, Scott, Katheryn and Kristen and four great grandchildren, Kari, David, Jack and Michaela. Mrs. Potter also leaves her good friend, Robert Cartwright, of Zellwood, FL.
She was predeceased by a son, Randolph R. Potter.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Cemetery: Old North Cemetery

Location: Munson-Lovetere Woodbury

Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 2 School St.

Visitation: There are no calling hours.
