A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 9:30am, St. Rose of Lima Church, Newtown. Interment to follow at St. Rose Cemetery, Newtown.

Janine Corinne DeFeo, 76, of Woodbury, passed away suddenly on January 29th. Janine is survived by her husband of 52 years, Blase; daughter Tanya (Michael) of Roxbury along with her grandchildren; Wyatt, Colten, and Savanna, and sister, Helene Gamache of Quebec, Canada. Janine is also survived by many cousins in Canada from the families of Chouinard, Deschenes, Desjardins, Laurendeau, Julian and Marie (LeBlanc) Pearson, Jean-Guy and Yvette (LeBlanc) Cantin and family, Poitras, and Thibault along with her dear friends, especially Nora and Ron Fisher. Janine was predeceased by her parents, Pauline and Gerard Gamache along with her adoptive parents, Yvonne Thibault and Joseph Gamache.

Janine was born in St-Eugene de L'islet, Quebec, Canada. She graduated from Laval University with a degree in nursing and worked at The Hospital de la Misericorde before moving to the United States where she specialized in dialysis and plasmapheresis for over 30 years. She will be remembered for how much she loved life, her family, and, especially her grandchildren. Services will be held in spring at St. Rose of Lima Church located on Church Hill Road, Newtown.
