Obituary

Janet F. Ricker, 83, passed away peacefully at her home in Oxford, Connecticut, surrounded by her family. Born on November 27, 1942, in Hartford, she was the daughter of George and Harriet French. Janet graduated from UCONN and worked as a physical therapist from 1965 to 1975.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, H. Norman Ricker Jr., with whom she shared over 58 years of marriage. Together, they raised two sons, Adam and Ken. After her sons were born, Janet devoted herself to raising them, embracing the role of a loving and dedicated mother.

An active participant in her faith community, Janet found joy in religious activities.

One of her favorite Bible verses was, Jeremiah 29:11 : “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”

She had a deep passion for music, particularly singing and playing the piano. Her creative spirit also shone through her talents in sewing and knitting.

Janet was also pre-deceased by her loving cats, Penny, Bootsie, Amber and Whiskers.

Janet is survived by her sons Adam and Ken, her sisters Carol Fowler and Barbara French, and her half-brother Spencer. Her loving kindness and beautiful singing voice will always be remembered.
