Mrs. Janet Virginia (Zane) Osborn, 77, of Woodbury died peacefully at home on Monday April 25, 2011 surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of fifty five years, Ormonde "Skip" Osborn.
Mrs. Osborn was born on July 21, 1933 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Enos Irwin and Calla (Janes) Zane. She grew up and attended schools in Watertown. She and her husband raised their family in Woodbury. She worked at Hickory Hill Rest Home, at Phillip's Diner for many years, and then in the Woodbury Tax Collector's office until her retirement.
Jan was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Woodbury. She was very active with the Woodbury Senior Citizens. She drove for FISH and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She was an avid reader; she had a green thumb and loved working in her gardens. She and Skip travelled many happy miles in their RV.
She leaves her daughters, JoAnn Ring and her husband David of Woodbury, Lisa Paddock and her husband Jeff of Watertown and a son Ormonde "Chip" Osborn and his wife Kathie of Oxford. She was predeceased by a son Jeffrey Hunter Osborn. She is also survived by a brother, Grey Zane and his wife Lois of Woodbury. She also leaves six grandsons, Matthew and David Barrow of Georgia, Zachary Buesser of Watertown, Timothy and Daniel Osborn of Oxford, and Bruce Harrelson of Woodbury, and several nieces and nephews.

Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 7th at 3pm at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 294 Main St. South, Woodbury. Burial will be private in New North Cemetery, Woodbury.
