With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Janet Elaine Ieronimo, 76, of Woodbury, CT, who left this world on September 1, 2026. Born on May 17, 1950, in Elizabeth, NJ, to Victor G. and Harriet (Hodge) Kocenko. Janet touched the lives of many with her warmth, gentleness, and unwavering spirit.

Janet graduated from Trumbull High School and later attended NVCC in Waterbury, where she furthered her education and pursued her interests with great passion. An accomplished orthodontic dental assistant, Janet dedicated 30 years of her life to serving patients in Dr. Richard Shanahan’s Waterbury office. She cherished the friendships she formed with her former co-workers, remaining close to them throughout her life.

Janet's passions were as vibrant as her spirit. A lover of the West Highland Terrier breed, she raised, bred, showed, and groomed these delightful dogs, finding joy in their companionship. Her green thumb flourished in her flower garden, where she reveled in planting beautiful blooms, leaving the job of weeding to Dan, much to their shared amusement.

Her infectious laughter and kind heart will leave a void that cannot be filled. As Daniel thoughtfully reflects, life will not be as vibrant without Jan around; her presence is truly missed.

Janet is survived by her devoted husband, Daniel Ieronimo, with whom she celebrated 56 wonderful years of marriage, crowned by a bond forged in love and friendship since their wedding on July 11, 1970, in Watertown, CT. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Nancy D’Aurio of Florida.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Munson-Lovetere, located at 2 School St., Woodbury, CT. Graveside services will take place Thursday, October 1, 2026 1:00pm at New North Cemetery in Woodbury. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woodbury Ambulance Association (P.O. Box 581 Woodbury, CT. 06798) or the American Diabetes Foundation, organizations that reflect Janet's caring heart and desire to help others. 

Janet Elaine Ieronimo will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the many hearts she has touched throughout her life.
