Middlebury- Janet C. (Cox) Frey, 90, passed away on March 11, 2025 peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Janet was born on May 1, 1934 in St. Louis Missouri. She was educated at Mary Institute in St. Louis and Wells College in upstate New York. It was there that she met her husband of 65 years, Julian Jordan Frey Jr. They moved to Cold Spring Harbor on the North Shore of Long Island where they raised their three sons.

For 25 years, Janet owned and operated a large gym and health club in Manhasset. She was a passionate reader and a strong advocate of exercise- swimming a half mile just 2 weeks ago!

She is survived by her three sons, Julian J. Frey III and his wife Paula, Tucker Frey and his wife Marilyn, and Barclay Frey and his wife Roya. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services will be held privately.
