Jamie Lee Svendberg, 42, of Southbury, CT, passed away on April 1, 2025, at Beacon Brook Health Center in Naugatuck.

Born on May 1, 1982, in Waterbury, CT, Jamie was the beloved daughter of James G. Levay and Marianne Levay. She was raised in both Waterbury and Watertown.

Jamie pursued her education at Porter and Chester Institute, studying medical assisting, and later at Naugatuck Valley Community College, where she focused on early childhood education. It was at Porter and Chester that she met the love of her life, Wayne Svendberg. The two married in 2010 and made their home in Southbury in 2016, to raise their two sons, Wyatt and Aleksander.

Jamie was a devoted wife and a deeply loving mother, guiding her children with warmth, compassion, and unwavering dedication. Her passion for working with children extended beyond her own family. She served as a preschool teacher and Cub Scout den leader, touching the lives of many local families. Her kind heart and infectious spirit were known to all—she loved attending town events where she'd reconnect with her former students.

Jamie found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved camping, reading, horror movies, true crime stories, and playing games with her family and friends. Her laughter and enthusiasm lit up every room she entered.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Svendberg; her sons, Wyatt and Aleksander Svendberg; her mother, Marianne Levay; and her grandmother, Connie Tedeski. She was predeceased by her father, James G. Levay, and her brother, James J. Levay.

Jamie's loving heart, generous spirit, and dedication to her family and community will be remembered by all who knew her.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 19th, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home in Southbury, CT, with a memorial service at 1:30 PM.
