James S. Shrewsbury, 96 a long time resident of Southbury, died Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness.
Born, April 17, 1918 on Rotherhithe, London he was the youngest of 13 children. Jim immigrated to the United States with his wife, Eileen in 1957. He worked as an engineer for Uniroyal for over 30 years in New York City and then in Southbury.
Jim was a man of many talents including singing, clock repairs, calligraphy and golf. He loved traveling and classical music, but above all he loved his family and many friends he made through the years.
He leaves his niece, Jill Michael of Hartford, CT; his cousins Mary Ellen and Amy Schildwaster of Middletown, CT; his nephews and their families in London; Albert Shrewsbury, Ann Shrewsbury, Roy Shrewsbury, Carol Townsend, John Shrewsbury in addition to many more nieces and nephews.
