Dedicated craftsman, Cherished father

Roxbury- James N. Niles, 80,  passed away peacefully at Waterbury Hospital on October 25, 2023.

James was a carpenter with an unwavering eye for detail. He dedicated his life to craftsmanship, building and framing hundreds of beautiful homes throughout the state of Connecticut. He was deeply fond of nature and the outdoors. A true country boy, James could often be found riding his beloved horses on the trails or enjoying some of his favorite country music songs. Later in life, James acquired a love for Nascar as well.

James is survived by his loving children: James A. Niles and wife Elizabeth Ferry Niles, Elizabeth G. McCoy-Wilson and husband Shabeon Wilson and Alysan Marie Niles, his grandchildren Tyler, Sam and Christopher, and his siblings, Betty Vincent, Alton Niles Jr., Deborah Niles-Pennisi. James was predeceased by his parents, Esther and Alton Niles and his sister Jean Canfield. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023 from 4pm until 7pm at Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, 235 Main St. N. Southbury, CT 06488. Burial will take place on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 in Newport, Vermont.
