James G. Mahoney passed to his eternal rest on November 3, 2010, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Born December 13, 1939 in Yonkers, NY, to Joseph and Cecelia Mahoney, Jim had an exemplary career as a Lieutenant of the New Rochelle Fire Department. He spent the better part of his life serving others and was dearly cherished by his family as well as his community. In retirement, he delighted in his love of theatre and performed in a number of productions with the Heritage Village Theater Guild of Southbury, CT. He is survived by his beloved wife Susan of Southbury, CT; his daughter, Eileen Mauro and her husband Michael of Harrison, NY; his son James Mahoney and his wife Michelle of Poughkeepsie, NY; and dear grandchildren, Michael, Maggie, Sean and Shamus. He is also survived by his brothers, John Mahoney and his wife Marietta of Dover, NH, Robert Mahoney of Guilford, CT, Joseph and his wife Patricia of Yonkers, NY and a sister, Geri Travis and her husband Rowland of Southbury, CT; as well as by his many loving nieces and nephews. His dear brother Thomas Mahoney predeceased him.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westchester County Medical Center Burn Unit, Westchester County Medical Center Foundation, 19 Bradhurst Ave., Suite 3060N, Hawthorne, NY 10532.

Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 8 at 10: 00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main St. South, Southbury, CT.
Visitation: Calling hours Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. North.
