James J. Lonegan, of Southbury, died Tuesday, November 28, peacefully at his home. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Derry) Lonegan. Mr. Lonegan was born April 22, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY, son of Isabelle (Hession) Lonegan and the late Edward J. Lonegan. Mr. Lonegan had worked in construction and at various lumber yards prior to his illness. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and enjoyed ATV riding, woodworking and model trains. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, John Lonegan; two daughters, Jennifer Bland and Meaghan Lonegan; three brothers, Edward Lonegan and his wife Betty, Christopher Lonegan and his wife Ann, Peter Lonegan and his wife Janet; a sister, Isabelle Lonegan; and 1 grandchild, Taylor Bland. He was pre-deceased by a brother, John Lonegan.

Services: A mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, December 2 at 10: 00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Southbury. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Southbury.
Visitation: Friends may call at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. North, Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
